Raptors, Kyle Lowry Agree to One-Year Contract Extension

2 Min Read

The Toronto Raptors are ensuring that point guard Kyle Lowry will be sticking around for a while longer as they have inked the veteran guard to a one-year, $31 million contract extension, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Not only does the new deal prevent Lowry from hitting the free agent market next summer, but it also guarantees Lowry two years and $64 million on the books, including the $33.3 million left on his expiring contract this season.

“We are so appreciative of how Masai and Bobby handled every aspect of this negotiation,” agent Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports told ESPN. “Once again, they displayed how they look after their players in a first-class manner, especially someone like Kyle who they recognize has such a legacy with the franchise.”

Lowry joined the Raptors back in 2012, collecting five All-Star selections, and helping the team to their first NBA Championship in 2019.
