Dolphins’ Xavien Howard Arrested for Domestic Battery

2 Min Read

Miami Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard was arrested on Sunday night on domestic batter charges, according to ESPN’s Cameron Wolfe.

Howard, 26, was arrested by the Davie Police Department after, according to ESPN, an argument between Howard and his fiancée, which was reportedly over the purchase of a purse, turned physical when Howard grabbed both her arms and pushed her back up against the mirrored glass wall in the hall of their bedroom, causing her to fall and land on his medical assistant walking crutch.

Police indicate that there were scratches and redness on her right wrist/forearm from Howard grabbing her and an abrasion and redness from the fall.

After being processed at the Davie Police Department, Howard was transported to a hospital when he complained of knee pain from a recent surgery. Howard was then transferred to the Broward County Jail.

Howard and his fiancée live together and share three children.

“We are aware of the situation and currently gathering information,” the Dolphins said in a statement. “We will have no further comment at this time.”

Howard, who was placed on injured reserve due to a knee injury back in October, signed a five-year, $75.25 million contract extension in May and is considered to be a key rebuilding piece for the Dolphins, and a big part of their plans for the future.
