Saints Working Out Antonio Brown

2 Min Read

The New Orleans Saints are working out free agent wide receiver Antonio Brown on Friday as they conduct their due diligence on the troubled-superstar, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

With Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas being limited in practice this with as he deals with a hand injury, an injury that is reportedly not serious, the Saints potential addition of Brown offers a ton of potential, but Brown is not being worked out due to Thomas’ ailment.

Brown, 31, comes with plenty of risk, plenty of baggage, and a ton of drama, and there is no guarantee that, even if he is signed, that he will play. Brown is currently being investigated by the NFL under its personal conduct policy after a lawsuit filed by his former trainer, Britney Taylor, earlier this year that alleges she was sexually assaulted by Brown on multiple occasions. Additionally, Brown was accused of sexual misconduct at his home by an artist who was working there in 2017.

Brown, who has denied the allegations, met with the NFL for eight hours last month in Florida as part of the investigation, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson.

It is possible that Brown could up on the commissioner’s exempt list and face additional league-imposed discipline, even if the Saints sign him to a deal following his workout with the team on Friday.

Because of his issues off the field, Brown has played in only one game this season, with the New England Patriots.
