Impact Wrestling’s Twitch Account Returns Following Week-Long Ban

3 Min Read

Impact Wrestling is one of a number of twitch channels that have been hit with a ban from the platform, but fortunately for them, and their fans, their channel officially made it’s return to the streaming platform following just one week of being banned.

It was believed that their Twitch channel was initially banned due to a segment involving Rob Van Dam, Katie Forbes, and Jennifer Barlow. During the segment, Van Dam bragged about his victories over Brian Cage and Daga, and during the celebration in which Forbes and Barlow joined, both ladies were using whipped cream to cover parts of their body. Due to the content, several parts of their bodies were blurred out, so it’s easy to see how Twitch could have found issues with their content, invoking the ban.

Their terms of service addresses sexual content as such:

“We restrict content that involves nudity or is sexual in nature, and are committed to ensuring that Twitch is not used for sexual exploitation or violence… While we understand that some nudity or sexual content might be intended for educational, scientific, artistic, newsworthy, or academic purposes, we restrict this content due to the diversity in age and cultural backgrounds of our global community. We may, in limited educational and artistic contexts, make pre-approved exceptions to these policies.”

Impact announced their return back on Wednesday, via their official Twitter page, stating; “Our Twitch channel is back up and running. Add it to the list of things that are hard to kill.”

It’s interesting to see how Twitch followed a strict guideline pathway here, especially seeing how they have been inconsistent with policing content from a number of high profile streamers, female streamers, and even the most popular women streamers who appear to violate the same guidelines in terms of nudity and indecent content streamed on the service. These stories have dominated headlines in both Twitch news and esports news over the past few years.

Regardless, Impact is back on Twitch, and wrestling can be streamed once again.
