The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired former former MVP Mookie Betts and pitcher David Price from the Boston Red Sox in a blockbuster, three team trade, that also included the Minnesota Twins, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
Boston will receive a package that includes outfielder Alex Verdugo from the Dodgers, and pitching prospect Brusdar Graterol.
The Twins will receiver starting pitcher Kenta Maeda from the Dodgers as part of the deal.
Betts, 27, hit .295/.391/.524 and finished eighth in American League MVP voting last season, one season following is MVP performance in 2018 in which he slashed .346/.438/.640 during the Red Sox’s championship run.
Verdugo, 23, hit .294/.342/.475 with a 2.2 WAR in 377 at bats for the Dodgers last season.
