Welsh football/soccer star Gareth Bale, a member of the Wales national team and a winger for Real Madrid, has officially launched Ellevens Esports in partnership with 38 Entertainment, which was founded by entrepreneur Jonathan Kark and former professional footballer Larry Cohen.
“On the pitch, my goal is always to win” Bale said, in an official press release.
“With Ellevens Esports, that winning attitude is just as important. There are similarities between football and esports in that it takes real dedication and sacrifice to reach the top of your game. I am looking to recruit a team of world-class players for Ellevens across a variety of games. Unearthing new talent is an exciting part of the process and it’s been really exciting to be involved in selecting our line-up of players so far!”
Ellevens Esports will officially kick things off in FIFA, and have signed an esports team that will compete in the eClub World Cup that takes place later this month. Given the star power involved, esports conventions will be buzzing about this team in the months to come.
Additionally, they will be looking to compete in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Rocket League, and Fortnite in the coming months, hoping that their esports teams will make a major mark in the competitive landscape.
“We foresee further explosive growth in this international phenomenon and are actively seeking to deploy significant further capital into complimentary businesses within the Esports ecosystem” Kark said.
The organization is set to host an open talent search to sign players to a professional contract, which will boost their visibility, make headlines in esports news, and also increase their ranking in the esports directory as well.
