Amidst the coronavirus pandemic, which has shut down sports, among other things, the Tampa Bay Lightning are ensuring that their fans still get some Lightning hockey, even if it’s not what we are accustomed to seeing when it comes to NHL action.
According to the Tampa Bay Times’ Diana C. Nearhos, the Lightning will stream simulations generated from ‘NHL 20’ live among the mass twitch channels available on the popular streaming platform.
The Lightning already streamed three games a piece on both Monday and Tuesday night, and will stream a virtual game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday night at 7 PM.
Lightning fans can now turn to Twitch to get a least some sort of semblance of their team. Additionally, Fox Sports Sun is airing replays of past games.
During the shut down and quarantine across the globe, streaming has been a “go to” place for people looking for content, and content creators looking for another way to deliver. From fitness streams , which is providing closed gyms a way to deliver classes, all the way to esports teams, there is plenty to see on Twitch, and other platforms such as Mixer channels, YouTube, and Facebook Gaming channels as well.
