Premier League to Stream on Twitch

Amazon’s popular Twitch platform is will start streaming live Premier League football games for free, with viewers in the United Kingdom will be able to access four matches, starting with the Crystal Palace vs. Burnley match on June 29th, according to the Verge.

According to Deadline, the twitch streams will give fans the chance to interact with one another while matches are taking place.

The games will be available for free via Prime Video.

The Premier League has implemented streaming, and worked out a deal with Twitch, as part of the league’s COVID-19 restart plan. The league returned after close to a 14-week hiatus on Wednesday night.

“We are extremely passionate about delivering the best experience for our customers whilst following guidelines to ensure the safety of our production team,” said Alex Green, managing director of Amazon Prime Video Sport Europe, per the report

“Beyond this, we have made a number of additions that bring extra choice to our customers in how they watch, from full-crowd Stadium Atmosphere to streaming our Prime Video fixtures on leading streaming service, Twitch.”

The games will likely drive even more viewers, including new ones, to Twitch channels, despite record breaking numbers during the coronavirus pandemic.
