The Toronto Blue Jays, who won’t be allowed to play home games in Canada and had planned to play their games in Pittsburgh, will be playing their 2020 home games in Buffalo, New York, according to ESPN.
The Blue Jays were looking for a major league park after the Canadian government declined to allow them to play in Toronto, where their home park is located.
The state of Pennsylvania nixed a deal that would have had the Blue Jays playing games in Pittsburgh, and the state of Maryland had offered to allow the Blue Jays to start at Camden Yards, where the Baltimore Orioles play, in September, but the team did not want to wait, according to ESPN’s Marly Rivera.
Toronto begins the season at Tampa Bay on Friday, and are schedule to play their first home game on July 29th against the defending World Series champion Washington Nationals.
