Knicks Considering Jason Kidd as Negotiations Stall with Tom Thibodeau

1 Min Read

The New York Knicks search for a new head coach hit a snag as contract negotiations with Tom Thibodeau, considered at one time to be the front runner for the job, have stalled.

According to the New York Daily News’ Stefan Bondy, Jason Kidd has emerged as a new front-runner for the job, as the negotiations with Thibodeau have been stalled.

Per the report, Knicks owner James Dolan has been unwilling to agree to meet the contract requests of Thibodeau, leading to the snag in the process.

Should Kidd be hired, the front office would likely have input into who his assistant coaches will be, and interim head coach Mike Miller is a name to watch if that happens.

While it is still possible that Thibodeau lands the Knicks job, it seems the two sides have some work to do to get an official deal wrapped up.
