The New York Yankees have officially announced that they have optioned outfielder Clint Frazier and right-hander Ben Heller to their alternate training site.
In corresponding moves, the Yankees are looking to bring in right-handers Nick Nelson and Brooks Kriske to the active roster.
Frazier again will bounce off the Yankees big league roster, as the 25-year old, who was once considered to be one of the team’s top prospects seems to be an afterthought with the team.
Frazier could see another call up this season, and he still has immense potential at the plate, but with the struggles of starter James Paxton during Saturday’s tilt against the Washington Nationals, the Yankees are prioritizing having more arms on their roster at this time.
Should Brett Gardner continue to struggle, Frazier’s name could be a topic of conversation soon.
