The San Francisco 49ers have reached an agreement with free agent veteran safety Johnathan Cyprien, per his agent Drew Rosenhaus, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Cyprien spent last season with the Philadelphia Eagles, who ended up trading him to the Atlanta Falcons for linebacker Duke Riley.
Cyprien only played in 5 games last season, and was placed on injured reserve not long following his arrival to the Falcons.
The 30-year old safety has struggled with injuries throughout his career, but could find a reserve role and provide valuable depth for the Niners moving forward.
Cyprien is best known for his time with the Tennessee Titans and the Jacksonville Jaguars, who drafted him in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
