Portland Trail Blazers veteran forward Carmelo Anthony has been a big contributor to the team’s success during their time in the bubble, and on Sunday he reached a major career milestone when he made the Top 15 of the NBA’s all-time scoring list.
While Anthony is proud of the achievement, he remains primarily focused on the Blazers making the playoffs, as it comes down to the wire in a heated Western Conference playoff race.
“First of all it’s an honor,” Anthony said, according to Marc J. Spears of ESPN. “I’m blessed to still be able to do it. To reach that Top 15, I don’t want to take that for granted. There’s some greats on there. But it’s kinda hard to celebrate that at this moment. I appreciate it. It is what it is. It’s a great milestone. Again, I don’t want to downplay it, but it’s very hard to talk about it when you’re still on this dog fight. There’s so much that we have to accomplish.”
The Blazers released the following video of Anthony addressing the team following the game.
