Padres Acquire Austin Nola from Mariners

The San Diego Padres officially acquired catcher Austin Nola from the Seattle Mariners in a seven-player blockbuster completed on Sunday.

Seattle lands one of the Padres’ top prospects in outfielder Taylor Trammell in return, but also received infielder Ty France, catcher Luis Torrens, and right handed reliever Andres Munoz.

San Diego also lands relievers Austin Adams and Dan Altavilla, who has been part of the Seattle bullpen since 2016.

Nola is batting .306 with 5 homers and 19 RBIs over 29 games for the Mariners this season.

The trade is another for San Diego in the past few days, who also landed reliever Trevor Rosenthal via trade.
