Popular Steamer Shroud Returns to Twitch

2 Min Read

Following the shutdown of streaming platform Mixer, a lot of streamers were left looking for new homes and now one of the biggest names in the industry has announced that he is returning to where it all began.

Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek has officially announced that he will be re-joining Twitch, where he amassed over 7 million followers prior to his leaving for Mixer in 2019.

According to The Verge, Shroud returns on an exclusive deal.

Grzesiek was one of the biggest names on Twitch pre-Mixer acquisition, which landed him $10 million following Mixer’s downing and his contract pay out.

Considering the recent ban of Dr. Disrespect, who was running one of the most popular twitch channels on the platform, and his re-emergence on YouTube, Twitch was smart to lock up one of the most popular streamers in the industry today.

Shroud’s return to Twitch easily made streamer news headlines on Tuesday, and for good reason.

“As I was exploring options, I realized that there was no better place than Twitch to engage with the best and most loyal gaming community worldwide,” Grzesiek said in an official statement (h/t The Washington Post).

“There’s nothing better than a homecoming, so we’re thrilled to welcome Shroud and his incredible community back to Twitch,” Michael Aragon, SVP of Content at Twitch stated.
