The Baltimore Ravens and All-Pro tackle Ronnie Staley will be resuming their talks regarding a new contract, according to ESPN’s Jamison Hensley.

Talks between the Ravens and Staley have been on hold since February, as the two sides aim to hammer out a deal as Staley enters the final year of his rookie deal, a $12.87 million fifth-year option.

“It’s not really at the forefront of my mind. We’re still in talks, and hopefully, we are trying to get something done soon,” Stanley said.  “But I think my main focus has always been be the best player I can be [and] help my team win. The money usually takes care of itself after that.”

Given the contract the Houston Texans worked out with left tackle Laremy Tunsil, it will be interesting to see what Staley commands in a new deal. If a deal cannot be worked out, then Staley instantly becomes a franchise tag candidate.
