The Tampa Bay Rays have officially activated outfielder Austin Meadows from the COVID-19 injured list, according to the Tampa Bay Times’ Marc Topkin.
Meadows has already been cleared to rejoin the team, and has spent the past few weeks to get ready for the regular season action.
In a corresponding move, the Rays have officially optioned right hander Trevor Richards, who has struggled during the 2020 season.
The Rays are hoping that Meadows can continue his impressive production from the 2019 season when he belted 33 homers for the team.
