You can check the Houston Texans and the Atlanta Falcons off the list of potential landing spots for veteran free agent safety Earl Thomas who was recently released by the Baltimore Ravens.

According to D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Journal Constitution, Falcons head coach Dan Quinn squashed any rumors that Thomas could come to Atlanta to play for Quinn once again. Quinn coached Thomas when the two were with the Seattle Seahawks.

With Keanu Neal and Ricardo Allen in the defensive backfield for Atlanta, there simply may not be room for Thomas on the roster.

“He is absolutely one of my all-time favorite competitors,” Quinn said of Thomas. “I love the guy. But at this time that’s a position that we are not looking to add to at this time.”

According to the Houston Chronicle’s John McClain, the Texans aren’t going to be landing Thomas either, despite an endorsement from Texans’ quarterback Deshaun Watson on his official Instagram page.

Following his release from the Ravens, rumors started swirling that the Dallas Cowboys would be in the lead for acquiring the free agent Thomas, but apparently that isn’t the case (as of now) despite mutual interest over the past few years.
