Minnesota Vikings new defensive end Yannick Ngakoue has agreed to a new one-year deal with the Vikings that will pay him just $12 million, according to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero.

Ngakoue, who was acquired via trade from the Jacksonville Jaguars, would have made over $17 million under the one-year tender, and the Vikings retain his rights through 2021.

The 25-year old will look to make an impression on his new team in hopes of landing the lucrative, long-term contract he has been seeking.
