49ers, Richard Sherman Discussing Contract Extension

The San Francisco 49ers and veteran cornerback Richard Sherman are discussing a contract extension to keep Sherman in San Francisco for years to come, according to San Jose Mercury News’ Cam Inman.

Sherman, 32, is currently set to see his contract expire following this season, and has said that he plans to play four more seasons before calling it quits.

Sherman has been stellar since signing with the 49ers in free agency back in 2018, earning second team All-Pro honors for 2019.

Per the report, Sherman said that he has discussing a new deal with the 49ers, although it is not clear how close, or far away, the two sides are in finalizing a new contract.
