Bengals’ Joe Mixon Wants to End Career in Cincinnati

2 Min Read

Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon is intent on finishing his career with the Bengals after signing a four-year, $48 million contract extension, according to ESPN Ben Baby.

In fact, Mixon had some pretty high praise for rookie quarterback Joe Burrow, and hopes he can close out his career along with the Bengals’ new franchise signal caller.

“I really don’t think he’s your typical rookie,” Mixon said of Burrow. “He’s definitely going to be a great guy here in this league for years to come and I hope I can finish my career here with him.”

Mixon hasn’t been shy about his desire to be a “Bengal for life”.

“I really didn’t want to go anywhere,” Mixon said. “I love our fans, I love my teammates and upstairs, they definitely value me in a way that a lot of people won’t. Like I said, I wanted to show my loyalty here and finish my career here. Hopefully in a few years I’ll be able to have another (contract).”

Mixon is also feeling pretty confident about the offense heading into the season, with Burrow in the mix and the return of wide receiver A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd.

“Honestly, this offense is going to be special,” Mixon said. “It has a lot of potential to do a lot of special things.”
