Broncos Sign Timmy Jernigan

The Denver Broncos are bringing in veteran defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan following his release from the Jacksonville Jaguars earlier this week, according to 9News’ Mike Klis.

Jernigan made a name for himself while with the Baltimore Ravens, and was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles where he started 15 games in his first season, helping the Eagles to a victory in Super Bowl LII.

Jernigan ended up inking a four-year, $48 million contract with the Eagles, but was limited to just three games during the 2018 season, leading the Eagles to rework his deal to a more affordable one-year pact for the 2019 season.

Jernigan started 9 games in 2019 for the Eagles, providing serviceable play.

Jernigan landed with the Houston Texans during the spring, but that didn’t last through the summer, leading him to land with the Jaguars.

Jernigan may make his debut for the Broncos when they take on the New York Jets on Thursday night.
