Tyler “Ninja” Blevins Returns to Twitch in Exclusive Multi-Year Deal

3 Min Read

Tyler “Ninja” Blevins has finally decided on the next home for his immensely popular streaming brand, following the shutdown of Microsoft’s Mixer earlier this year.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Ninja has inked an exclusive multiyear deal with video game streaming platform Twitch, which is owned by Amazon, and made his official return following the deal earlier on Thursday.

“I am excited to get back to streaming full-time and connecting with my loyal fanbase,” Blevins, 29, said in an official statement.

“I really took my time to decide which platform was best and Twitch has been supportive throughout this process and understanding my overall career goals. In this next chapter, I’m going to make it a point to elevate and bring more eyes to underrepresented creators. I am looking forward to working with Twitch to demonstrate how this amazing community of gamers can make a meaningful impact.”

Ninja made headlines when he became the first major streamer to leave Twitch and sign with Mixer back in early 2019, leading the way for others to follow suit and sparking the wave of exclusive contracts that platforms such as Twitch, YouTube, Facebook Gaming, and, at the time, Mixer were starting to hand out.

Blevins (Ninja) had made his name, and built his incredible streaming career, on the streaming platform, becoming one of, if not the most, popular of twitch channels to ever stream on Twitch.

“We are thrilled Ninja is returning to Twitch,” said Michael Aragon, senior vp of content at Twitch. “Tyler is an iconic force in the gaming community, and it’s been amazing to see the impact he’s made on the industry and broader culture. Gaming — and the people who love it — are being recognized by a broad mainstream audience now in part because of Tyler, and we know he’s just getting started.”

According to Sudairy, which reports on streamer news, Ninja was giving away 100 subscriptions every half-hour leading up to his first stream back, under the new contract, on Twitch. His stream kicked off at 2pm CT, and he had already collected more than 15 million followers on his official Twitch channel.
