Astros’ Carlos Correa Fires Back At Haters

1 Min Read

Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa was the catalyst to the Astros Game 1 victory over the Minnesota Twins, with a two-out, tiebreaking home run in the seventh inning that ended up catapulting the team to a 3-1 victory.

The win sent the Twins to their record 18th straight loss in the postseason.

It also gave Correa an opportunity to fire back at those who are still upset following the team’s rule-breaking, sign stealing scandal hit the wire.

“I know a lot of people are mad. I know a lot of people don’t want to see us here,” Correa said (h/t ESPN). “But what are they going to say now?”

“I don’t think they necessarily thought that they had anything to prove. They just had to play ball,” said Astros manager Dusty Baker.

“We’re a solid team,” Correa said. “We play great baseball. We won a series on the road in Minnesota. So what are they going to say now?”

They’ll say plenty, Carlos. The fact your team, essentially, cheated to a World Series championship and two World Series appearances will leave a lasting sour taste in fans mouths for a long time.
