Clemson’s Dabo Swinney Says He’s Not Thinking of Texans Job

1 Min Read

Following the firing of Bill O’Brien as the head coach and general manager of the Houston Texans, rumors swirled that Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney may make the jump to the NFL to take the job.

With Deshaun Watson entrenched as the quarterback in Houston, it makes sense to tie Swinney, who coached Watson in college, to the Texans’ new job opening.

However, Swinney was rather dismissive when asked about the Texans and Watson when speaking to the media.

“I have not heard from Deshaun and that is not even anything that I want to even have to think about,” Swinney said, according to Matt Young of The Houston Chronicle. “You would be the one to ask that question out of all the questions. You don’t want to ask anything about Miami? Next question.”

Swinney also has a good relationship with Texans’ executive Jack Easterby.
