Reds Legend Joe Morgan Dies at 77

Cincinnati Reds great and Hall of Famer Joe Morgan, considered to be one of the greatest second baseman of all-time, has died at the age of 77, according to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale.

Morgan played 22 season in the majors, playing for the Reds, Colt.45s/Astros, San Francisco Giants, Oakland A’s, and Philadelphia Phillies during his career.

The Reds also retired Morgan’s #8 in 1987 not long after his retirement.

Morgan would serve as a part of the ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball broadcast team along with Jon Miller from 1990 until 2010, leaving to take a role as a special adviser for the Red’s baseball operations department.
