Only a few short months after acquiring him via trade, the Minnesota Vikings have shipped defensive end Yannick Ngakoue to the Baltimore Ravens, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Baltimore sends the Vikings a 2021 third-round pick, along with a 2022 conditional fifth-round pick in exchange for Ngakoue, who will travel to Baltimore within the next 24 hours to go through COVID-19 testing so he can be available to play for the Ravens next week.

The Vikings acquired Ngakoue back in late August sending a 2021 second-round pick and 2022 conditional fifth-round pick to the Jaguars.

Ngakoue has five sacks, two forced fumbles, seven quarterback hits and 12 tackles through six games for the Vikings this season.

It’s a big boost for the Ravens, who currently lead the NFL in fewest points allowed per game (17.3), but were in need in a prominent pass-rushing presence.

It’s a homecoming for Ngakoue, who had been hoping to land with the Ravens and grew up in Bowie, Maryland before starring at Maryland prior to being drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016.

“We are excited to add Yannick Ngakoue to our football team,” Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said in a statement. “Yannick is someone who we are very familiar with going back to the draft process years ago. He is an exciting player and a dangerous pass rusher who makes us better. Yannick grew up here. He’s the type of person we welcome in our building. Finally, we are not finished building this team, as we continue to chase our ultimate goals.”
