Alabama’s Nick Saban Tests Positive for COVID-19

1 Min Read

Alabama head coach Nick Saban has tested positive for COVID-19 and will not be able to coach the Crimson Tide for their upcoming game against Auburn, according to ESPN’s Alex Scarborough.

Saban, 69, received the positive test Wednesday morning and is showing “very mild symptoms”, according to an official statement issued by the university.

“He will follow all appropriate guidelines and isolate at home,” team physician Dr. Jimmy Robinson and head athletic trainer Jeff Allen said in the statement.

Saban will now have to isolate for at least 10 days, meaning that Saban’s return could be for Alabama’s season finale against Arkansas.

With Saban out, offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian will take over the head-coaching duties.
