Bengals Waive Takk McKinley, 49ers Interested

The Cincinnati Bengals were hoping to get more from defensive end Takk McKinley, who they picked up on waivers earlier this week and whose tenure ends less than a week after it began.

The Bengals have officially announced that they have waived McKinley after he failed a physical with the team, and he now heads back to the waiver wire.

According to NBC Sports Matt Maiocco, San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan says that the team will take another crack at singing him, after unsuccessfully submitting a waiver claim on him last week.

McKinley has 17.5 career sacks, but only 1 during the 2020 campaign.
