While he hasn’t played up to expectations this season, New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton has helped guide his team to back-to-back wins, including an impressive victory over the Baltimore Ravens.
Newton is confident that the team’s winning streak hasn’t scratched the surface on what their potential is for the remainder of the season.
“I’m just trying to win so I can stay in good graces, because I do know that we haven’t peaked as a team, let alone peaked personally,” Newton said, according to the Boston Herald’s Steve Hewitt. “So for me, I’m just trying to get better each and every day, my job as a leader of this team, one of the leaders of this team, is to stay consistent, bring the juice as coach would say, and that’s what I’m trying to do daily.”
New England currently sits a 4-5, behind the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins in the AFC East, and will need the former MVP signal caller to step his game up to keep the winning ways going.
