Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is shouldering the blame for the lack of targets available for wide receiver Marquise Brown this season.
Brown took to social media following Sunday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, tweeting — “What’s the point of having souljas when you never use them (Never!!)”
Jackson responded on Wednesday to the since-deleted tweet from Brown.
“That’s one of our key players to our offense,” Jackson said, according to ESPN’s Jamison Hensley. “I want to get him the ball, the easiest way and fastest way we can. I have to do a better job of getting it to him.”
“He’s a big part of our offense. We need him,” Jackson said. “So we got to be better at that, and we’ll be fine.”
Browns may get more targets, but they will be cut back when receiver Dez Bryant makes his way to the active roster. Jackson has praised Bryant for his work in practice.
“He’s dialed in to the playbook. He wants to compete,” Jackson said. “I just can’t wait for him to get out there with us on Sundays.”
