Royals Signing Mike Minor

The Kansas City Royals have agreed to terms on a deal with free agent left-hander Mike Minor, according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal.

According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, Minor’s contract with the Royals is a multi-year. Minor’s new deal will become officially once he passes a physical.

Minor will join the Royals for the second time, having inked a two-year pact head of the the 2016 season. However, Minor missed the entire 2016 season due to a shoulder injury, and pitched in a relief role for the club during the 2017 season.

During that season, Minor posted 1 2.55 ERA, which helped him land a three-year, $28 million contract with the Texas Rangers during free agency that offseason.

Minor is coming off a down 2020, where he posted a 5.56 ERA for the Rangers and the Oakland Athletics, who acquired him at the trade deadline.
