Brees, who suffered the injury during Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, is scheduled to undergo an MRI to check for cartilage damage.
The Saints are bracing for Brees to miss extended time, which means that they will likely turn to Jameis Winston for their upcoming game against the Atlanta Falcons.
