Seattle Seahawks veteran tight end Greg Olsen suffered a plantar fascia tear which could put his status for the rest of the season in jeopardy, head coach Pete Carroll announced on Friday.
According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Olsen is hopeful that he will be able to rejoin the team during the playoffs, although the Seahawks may have to make a deep run in order for Olsen to be healthy enough to play.
Olsen suffered the injury during Thursday night’s game against the Arizona Cardinals, and was carted to the locker room following the non-contact injury.
Olsen signed a one-year, $7 million deal with the Seahawks this offseason, and has a placeholder deal to join the FOX Sports broadcasting team once he finished his NFL career.
