Detroit Lions running back Adrian Peterson prefers to stay with the team beyond this season, expressing his interest in re-signing with the team, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson.

Peterson landed with the Lions on a veteran-minimum deal following his surprising release from the Washington Football Team, and has gone on to start 10 games for Detroit this season.

Peterson, a future Hall of Famer, has rushed for 531 yards and 6 touchdowns for the Lions this season, and is closing in on 15,000 rushing yards for his career.
