WWE superstar AJ Styles, and a number of other superstars, were directly impacted by WWE’s controversial stance on them utilizing third party platforms such as Amazon’s video game streaming platform Twitch and Cameo, met with Vince McMahon to discuss the policy but McMahon had his own thoughts.

Superstars such as Styles, Xavier Woods, and Sasha Banks (among many others) sat down for a meeting with McMahon back at WWE headquarters in Connecticut regarding the third party platforms, including their respective twitch channels, but it appears that not much progress was made for sports content creators performing in WWE.

“Myself, Xavier Woods and Sasha Banks had a sit-down meeting in Connecticut with Vince about the situation and it was determined its intellectual property – this is [points to his face, smiling]” Styles said, in an interview with TalkSport.

“We do well as far WWE goes. If there is an opportunity to pay back that money we work hard for in different times, then we probably should,” Styles explained.

“I was doing this long before the lockdown and the coronavirus. I was streaming and doing my thing, so I was always doing it on my time off, it wasn’t during.

“So things happen. I wasn’t happy about it. No one was. But, it is what it is. I’ll handle it the way I have to. I’m a team player, he’s [Vince McMahon] the captain. I’ll follow his lead as far as Vince is concerned.”

Despite the initial disappointment, Styles says that WWE is working on something, but he doesn’t have much confidence that it will make him happy.

“Will it change? They’re working on something as we speak” Styles said.

“Will I be happy with it? Probably not [laughs]. But, the opportunity to stream in the future is wide open. I obviously have the equipment [points to his impressive gaming room full of the best equipment], I just don’t have the opportunity right now.”
