With two games remaining in the regular season, the Denver Broncos are opting to shut down running back Phillip Lindsay for the remainder of the season, according to 9News’ Mike Klis.
Lindsay has been battling both knee and hip issues, which has led to the team making this decision regarding his status. Lindsay has formed a 1-2 punch with running back Melvin Gordon in the the Broncos’ backfield, but has struggled lately to match his production from earlier this season.
Lindsay is set to hit restricted free agency in the offseason, and with Gordon inked to a two-year contract, the Broncos may opt to let Lindsay walk.
