The Cleveland Browns are again dealing with issues in regards to COVID-19 and have closed their facility following another positive test, according to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero.
A coach and a practice squad player tested positive for COVID-19, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski, via ESPN’s Jake Trotter.
The team has also placed veteran safety Karl Joseph on the reserve/COVID-19 list, which could indicate that he was in contact with an individual who tested positive. Joseph joins tight end Harrison Bryant and safety Andrew Sendejo on the list.
The NFL’s Dr. Allen Sills said that there is no indication that there currently is an outbreak within the Browns organization.
“To date, we don’t see any connection among the recent positive cases with the Browns, so there’s no evidence of transmission within the facility,” Dr. Sills said. “But obviously we’re going to continue to work through that and continue to monitor the test results on a day to day basis.”
This comes after Receivers Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, Donovan Peoples-Jones and KhaDarel Hodge and linebackers B.J. Goodson and Jacob Phillips all missed Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, as they came into contact with another player who had tested positive.
