Dodgers Acquire Corey Knebel from Brewers

1 Min Read

The Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired All-Star reliever Corey Knebel moments ahead of the non-tender deadline came and went on Wednesday night.

According to ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez, the 29-year old Knebel will head to the World Series Champions for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

While Knebel struggled in his return from Tommy John surgery, there is hope that he can return to his form prior to tearing his ulnar collateral ligament in March 2019.

Knebel posted a 6.08 ERA and had a visibly diminished fastball in 2020, but in 2017 posted a stellar 1.78 ERA and 126 strikeouts in 76 innings.

Knebel will be a free agent after the 2021 season.
