Rockets’ James Harden Open to Trade to 76ers, Other Contenders

1 Min Read

Houston Rockets superstar guard James Harden isn’t just open to a trade to his preferred destination Brooklyn Nets, but also some other NBA contenders as well.

According to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon and Adrian Wojnarowski, Harden has indicated to the Rockets that he would be open to a trade to the Philadelphia 76ers and other contenders as well.

The Rockets and Nets have not had any productive talks, and have not discussed a Harden deal in weeks, per a report earlier today.

It is unclear what the Sixers would be willing to give up for Harden, but new 76ers’ president of basketball operations Daryl Morey, who served as the Rockets’ general manager for 13 seasons, has said he has no intention to break up the Sixers tandem of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons.

Per reports, the Rockets are intent on receiving a package that includes a young franchise cornerstone and a bundle of first-round picks and/or talented players on rookie contracts, in any deal for Harden.
