Yankees, Pirates Discussing Deal Involving Jameson Taillon, Josh Bell

1 Min Read

The New York Yankees and the Pittsburgh Pirates have had discussions regarding Pirates right-hander Jameson Taillon and first baseman Josh Bell, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Jason Mackey.

Although the two sided have had discussions, it is unclear just how serious the two sides are in making a trade actually come to fruition.

Taillon, 29, has posted a 3.67 ERA/3.55 FIP with 8.09 K/9 and 2.26 BB/9 across 466 innings for the Pirates, but has been limited due to a rash of injuries the last two seasons, include Tommy John Surgery in 2019.

Bell, 28, is a curious topic as the Yankees already have slugger Luke Voit and Mike Ford in the mix at first base, and their designated hitter spot is already slated to be occupied by Giancarlo Stanton, the majority of the time.
