Mets Reportedly Offer Trevor Bauer Massive Contract

1 Min Read

The New York Mets are apparently looking to add an ace to their pitching rotation this offseason and are targeting free agent frontline starter Trevor Bauer.

According to USA Today Sports’ Bob Nightengale, the Mets have offered the Cincinnati Reds pitcher a massive contract that approaches the annual value that the New York Yankees gave Gerrit Cole last offseason.

Cole signed a nine-year, $324 million contract with the Yankees, with an annual average of $36 million.

Bauer, 30, posted a 1.73 ERA with 100 stikeouts last season for the Reds, earning the Cy Young award in the proces.
