Washington Could Land Cam Newton

1 Min Read

Cam Newton’s days as the starting quarterback for the New England Patriots are over and he is set to hit free agency once the offseason officially begins, and one team seems like a natural fit for the former MVP signal caller.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter (h/t WEEI’s Ryan Hannable), “The most natural spot for Cam [Newton] would be Washington if he’s going to leave New England.”

“I am going to guess, two years with incentives, $40-50 million” Schefter said during an appearance on the Greg Hill Show on WEEI Boston radio.

Washington has had it’s issues at the quarterback position, but it’s fair to question how much of an upgrade Newton would provide given his underwhelming play with the Patriots this past season.
