Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is expected to be on the move in the coming days in what would be another big trade involving a quarterback this offseason, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Trading Wentz is no longer an “if” but now a “when” and “when” is expected to go down in the near future as reports indicate that a trade could happen as early as this week, even as the Eagles continue to insist that they would be happy to bring Wentz back.
Philadelphia is reportedly seeking “a Matthew Stafford package” in any deal for Wentz, although it’s hard seeing a team giving up that much for a quarterback who struggled mightily last season, and was benched for rookie Jalen Hurts.
The Detroit Lions received quarterback Jared Goff, a third round pick, and two first round picks from the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for Stafford.
The Chicago Bears are considered the favorites to land Wentz, with the Indianapolis Colts also in the mix as well.
