For those who were thinking a rebuild was set to take place this offseason for the Atlanta Falcons, think again.
According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, the Falcons will not be trading long-time franchise quarterback Matt Ryan or superstar wide receiver Julio Jones following a disappointing season and sweeping changes to the front office and coaching staff.
With new head coach Arthur Smith and new general manager Terry Fontenot entrenched, the Falcons will stay the course for the time being.
Jones, who was hampered for most of the 2020 season due to a hamstring injury, will be due $15.3 million in 2021. Ryan will make $40.9 million next season, and could be a candidate for a re-worked contract this offseason.
