Despite a trade request and a flurry of rumors, the Houston Texans have told teams that they are not trading superstar franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Per the report, sources say that Watson still wants to be traded from the Texans and does not want to play for the organization any longer. Despite his stance, the Texans insist that they will not trade him.
The Texans are reportedly going to stick to their stance. Due to Watson’s current contract, and with the power of the franchise tag, the Texans could hypothetically stick to their stance and control Watson’s rights through the 2028 season.
