Yankees Moving Towards Deal With Justin Wilson

1 Min Read

The New York Yankees are reportedly in serious talks with free agent lefty reliever Justin Wilson and the two sides are moving towards a deal that would bring Wilson back to the Bronx, according to MLB Network insider Jon Heyman.

Wilson pitched for the Yankees back in 2015, and pitched well for the team, but the Yankees traded him to the Detroit Tigers for relievers Luis Cessa and Chad Green following the regular season, and Wilson has pitched well since.

Over the last five seasons, Wilson has pitched to the tune of a 3.49 ERA with a solid strikeout rate.

With the move, Wilson will bring another lefty arm to a strong Yankees bullpen, who recently traded Adam Ottavino to the Boston Red Sox. Wilson’s addition looks like the replacement for Ottavino.
