The Houston Astros have agreed to terms on a two-year contract with veteran right hander Jake Odorizzi, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
Odorizzi’s new deal will include a player option for the 2023 season. Odorizzi had drawn interest from the Toronto Blue Jays, who were involved in discussions with Odorizzi during the free agent period.
Odorizzi is coming off an injury riddled season, but the 30-year old was solid from 2014 through 2019, with the Tampa Bay Rays, where he worked with executive James Click, who is now the general manager in Houston.
