The Tampa Bay Buccaneers took another step in ensuring their core returns to defend their Super Bowl Championship next season, agreeing to terms with Shaq Barrett on a four-year deal worth up to $72 million, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Barrett was set to hit the free agent market as one of the most sough after edge-rushers, despite a statistically down 2020 regular season. However, the Bucs were determined to ensure he stayed with the team following his impressive run in the playoffs, as well as his work in the 2019 season.
Barrett’s new deal includes $36 million guaranteed.
