Colts Remaining in Contact with Justin Houston

1 Min Read

The Indianapolis Colts weren’t one of the big spenders during the free agency period this offseason, but they did focus on bringing back some of their own, as evidenced by the new deal to bring back veteran wide receiver T.Y. Hilton.

The Colts are also keeping in touch with veteran pass rusher Justin Houston in the hopes of working out a new contract, according to The Athletic’s Stephen Holder.

Houston, 32, landed in Indy back in 2019 via a two-year, $24 million contract, and he went on to start 32 regular season games, collecting 69 tackles and 19 sacks during that time. However, he wasn’t graded highly last season, ranking as the 65th best edge rusher out of 109 qualifiers by Pro Football Focus during the 2020 season.

Per the report, the Colts are in talks with several other veteran edge players in addition to Houston, and could sign another free agent prior to the draft.
